Bill Tan's Visit to Vancouver

Catching up with Arthur Yap in Vancouver

Bill Tan was recently in Vancouver and managed to catch up with Arthur Yap. Together they went on the tourist trail. Below is a brief account from Bill:

Bill & Arthur at Horseshoe Bay"Called Arthur up on the phone after finding him in the directory under Arthur H. S. Yap. Otherwise would have to go through a dozen A. Yaps!

He very kindly came to my hotel in north Vancouver the next day and we went off first to Grouse Mountain accessed via a cable car. At the top the mists came in so took very few shots. A new attraction is the enclosure of Grizzly Bears which was new to Arthur.

We had a splendid lunch at Horseshoe Bay with the sun blazing down. Watched the ferries come and go to Vancouver Island (Nanaimo) and other places. Superb site (see photograph on the right). Next day walked the Lions Gate Bridge. A 2km round trip from the N. end."
